I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I once saw a guy play an instrument he made out of his bedroom door. His wife was pissed. I started playing music at age 9, which means that in 2014 my guitar playing will be old enough to buy me a beer. I started playing percussion at age 12, specializing in Marching Band/Drum Corps.
I studied Jazz Composition at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in 2005.
In 2008 I began work as a showband guitarist with Cunard Line. Over the next three years I traveled to 33 countries and performed nearly every night. It was the cat’s pajamas but after a while one grows to miss dry land. And froyo. Mostly froyo.
Since 2010 I have lived and worked as a guitarist, composer, arranger, copyist (yes, we still exist) and teacher in Los Angeles.
I’m also an astronaut. You know, on the side.
